      PRODUCT OVERVIEW

      KLD-FGT series fiber grating temperature sensing system uses optical fiber as the sensing component and signal transmission medium. It adopts the fiber optic local processing technology to produce a series of temperature-sensitive areas (i.e. optical fiber grating) in the ordinary single mode optical fiber to improve the sensitivity of optical fiber to temperature and stress and its accurate positioning capability; these sensitive areas can sensitively detect the subtle changes in the surrounding temperature, while the rest of the optical fiber is only used for signal transmission and is, insensitive to mechanical stress and environmental interference, thus ensuring the high sensitivity and reliability of the entire fiber grating sensing.

      Fiber grating temperature sensing system mainly consists of fiber optic grating temperature sensor, fiber optic sensing analyzer and signal transmission cable. The basic principle is to utilize the sensitivity of the reflected optical spectrum by the sensitive component inside the fiber grating sensor to temperature and stress deformation, complete the the excitation of input light source and the analysis and physical variable conversion of output optical spectrum of fiber grating sensors through the internal function modules inside the analyzer. It calculates the physical measurements of each monitoring points in digits, and gathers the information into the bridge, tunnel, water conservancy, petrochemical and power management system according to the pre-set data acquisition, storage, processing mechanism and communication mode.

      OPTICAL FIBER GRATING
      MEASUREMENT PRINCIPLE

      Optical fiber grating utilizes the photosensitivity of optical fiber material: that is, a permanent change in therefractive index of the core caused by the interaction of external incident photons and the core to form the spatial phase grating in the core through UV direct writing technique. In essence, it forms a narrow-band filter or reflector in the core.

      As the CW broadband light given off by the light source is injected through the transmission fiber, it is coupled with the optical field, selectively reflects back a corresponding narrowband light and returns along the original transmission fiber; the rest of the broadband light will be directly transmitted. The central wavelength of the reflected narrowband light varies linearly with the influence of temperature on the fiber grating, so that the optical transceiver has become a sensitive component of temperature and strain measurement with excellent performance.

      The remaining broadband light transmitted can continue to be transmitted to other fiber grating arrays with different central wavelengths, in which the narrowband light of corresponding central wavelength will be reflected back one by one, and returns along the original transmission fiber. This can realize the series multiplexing of multiple fiber optical sensors.
